Start of skchbk X. Advertisements

X 04: Mandible.

by

Unnecessary text reads: Mystery jaw, Sedili Besar beach, 25.02.2010. Also a quantity of ribs & half of pelvis (?), not collected. 20.02.10: Mystery jaw belongs to dugong, as voiced by K. Chen &… Continue reading

X 6-7: TECHNIC self, lego others.

by

Self as Technic, as could best be remembered. My closest sibling had lots of Technic, and the men that came with all those very cool cars planes diggers etc were bad ass, although… Continue reading

X 8-9: Oreo, friendly lady Ang Mo

by

Oreo, and some sketches from a walk around SNG: hurried and unfaithful sketch of the first Ang Mo who returned the greeting and smiled, all the while being a XX’er.

X 10-11: keep going

by

Not much in this one. This is what they call “a dry spell”.

X 12-14: Cohabitant and Kuala Lumpur, AMAS

by

Sketches from the seminal 2010 work, “Fuck it, buy it up there sure” set in contemporary Kuala Lumpur. Drawing works better when you go new places.

X: 14 – 15 Kuala Lumpur doodles, AAS logo

by

Ang-Mo Appreciation Society. You might call it racism, but we consider it competitive observation. Also, header sketches. And those feet-massage fish.

X: 16 – 17 Kuala Lumpur Faces / Birthday Helm

by

Sketches from K.L., bus-board sketches of a birthday helm for my 24th, to be made of paper.

X: 18 – 19 Hello Apollo, where should I begin?

X 28-29 – gift, lost æ sketch

by

More concept work for my drybag, which appears later. Also, a lost doodle from Æ, who gave unto me sketchbook X when I left home.

X 32-33: to the zoo

by

Check out the babirusa, a type of wild pig where the tusks grow up through the roof of the mouth. Beautiful civil creatures. Pigs; under-rated except as a food.

X 34-35: zoo sketches and singawalking

by

My progenitors came to the SNG, so I showed them my appreciation in the Zoo by walking very very slowly while I sketched. I really enjoyed drawing at the Zoo.

X: 36-37

junk

by

Working out what fish ladies would look like, because I find them incredibly erotic, yes. Also, lazy sketch of Ha Long cliff faces (Ha Long indescribable): it was incredibly hot. Also, Ang, while… Continue reading

Vietnam (outward)

by

The junks that pantomime around Ha Long Bay are nevertheless quite beautiful. In ways, there are probably bits of genuine culture that will survive even in the most septic tourism conglomerations, because their… Continue reading

envoy, goboids.

the little piscoid thing in the middle is the best study I could manage of a gobyesque fish in a freshwater pool just above the surf which is flooded with sea water somewhat… Continue reading

mullet enforcement

by

Text asserts that police forces in the 1980’s were powered by mullets. To be honest, I’m not certain that officer even has a mullet. Below the mullet, some sort of (indistinct) benthic supergroup.… Continue reading

armour salesman

by

sister’s hair and some more light tech. Armour salesman possibly inspired by Stark’s suit-in-a-briefcase technology, an excellent idea whichsoever way you look at any of that sentence.

X 52: the end of book X

by

To freak the kids out, we’re going to put the last page first, and the first page last, and then when browsing it will be displayed in the correct order. Why I’m writing… Continue reading
