Generally speaking, two ‘good’ things are:

  • trying.
  • colour.

Sketching is a sort of creative pragmatism, but it is also an apprehension about investing in your handiwork. There is a fear of judgment which wells up behind the ventricles, a shadow under the wrist and outside the elbow. ‘Where’ that fear comes from is an egotripe-valuepack, and we don’t sell those individually, so perhaps another time. This? This is a promotional sample, sir, you’re welcome sir.

It’s good to spend time doing a thing, though at points you feel you’ve ended up in the car park. Even better if that thing gets finished – this one got lucky.

Slight Steve Zissou vibe about the Cap’n – measure of that intent is now forgotten. I do love the colour in this. One gets lucky.
